Water

Things precious few of life's good gifts,
Which humans do seek after,
Can scarce match well, or dare compare,
With some REFRESHING WATER.

In scorching heat, you meet defeat,
And all your plans go under,
If none can bring that precious thing,

That we all know as WATER.

You talk of AIR which you compare,
And I restrain my laughter,
But naught can soothe a palate dry,
As does a drink of WATER.

Don't talk of food and praise its good,
Though food can be a booster,
Go fetch it fresh or fetch it cool,
And food falls short of WATER.

If dazed by heat you do require,
Some water from a pitcher,
No substitute of tea or drink,
Can stand for any WATER.

You'd be thirsty still, till you have your fill,
Of that sparkling thirst quencher.
For, try as you might, you won't be right,
Till you get that drink of WATER.

Let water live, let water give.
Life now, and in the here after.
For now it spares the life that's near,
Death now - bur for that WATER
