Dear Global Friend,
When Jesus was about to go into the garden of Gethsemane to
pray, he only took three of his disciples with him. They were Peter, James and
John. Mark 14 vs 33. The others he left at a little distance. (Not that he
didn't like the others, because it matters not whether you are a fisherman or
highly educated person, your status in life does not mean you will get first
preference over that person whom you have always looked down on in society
because they are not in your circle. He's a man of "WHOSOEVER")
When he wanted to connect with his father he went a little
further, this time he went alone. Mark 14 vs 35 There are some people who
may not be ready to go on to that level with you, so you have to distance
yourself from them. It's just that they are not strong enough to walk those
extra few more steps with you, but rather they will be a hindrance to your
growth. They may even prevent you from fulfilling your destiny and will slow
you down. Therefore, you just have to leave them there for a little while just
like Jesus did. It’s a personal thing you have to do alone. You have to meet
with God on a one on one . Some things are just too deep and painful to pray
about when people are around. You just need God’s ears only to hear those things.
It’s heavy and it's painful so deep inside you and you cannot let anyone else
hear it but God. Therefore, you go alone in private to avoid the funny faces
and the crossed eye looks.
Matthew 4 vs 1-11 When Jesus was led by the Spirit into the
wilderness, there he fasted for forty days and nights. Let’s note something. He
stayed there alone! When you are led by the spirit of God there will be some
dark and lonely days and nights that you may have to go through. Sometimes you
need to get away from all the distractions and the negative energy that
sometimes wants to overpower you and sometimes just be ALONE or surround
yourself with POSITIVE PEOPLE and just seek God. Take a vacation from all the
people who have become liabilities in your life and allow yourself to grow
stronger in God. Invest in the spirit man. But don't feel that you are too holy
to come down to other people’s level and show compassion to one’s situation.
In Matthew 9 vs 18 - 25, when one of the rulers
of the synagogue’s daughter had died, Jesus removed himself from the
crowd and he went into the house and spoke life back into the girl. HE WENT
ALONE!
Please take note of this point if you forget everything else
I said in this global devotional. The crowd can set you back at times
especially if they are not of the same mind and goal!
Be careful not to get contaminated. Yeast is put
into bread to make it rise, and it only takes a little to affect a whole batch
of dough. Be careful who or what is getting your attention!
When Moses went to meet with God and came back with the commandments,
he had to leave everything and everyone behind in order to go up higher. To
excel in something greater than himself.
Know what you are about. Other people’s future could be depending on you, and
some critical and life impacting decisions you may have to make alone. Once you
are walking with God, you will come out on top. His presence will be with you!
Abraham only took Isaac with him, he left the others
behind with the ass and he went ahead. Genesis 22vs 5 ( Jesus sent his
disciples to look for an ass, he had a purpose for it, however, the
donkey had no purpose when Abraham was meeting with God) we need to
identify when some people and things can be an obstruction and distraction in
fulfilling God's plan for our life.
As we come to a close, the point is, there are some people
you cannot tell your dreams and visions to. You WILL NOT progress once they are part of your life.
GET THEM OUT
OF YOUR LIFE
TODAY!
These people are called blessing blockers. If God puts it in
your heart – just go after it. Leave behind the things and people that
would not add value to your life and take a chance on life.
Your life is in session. Be a part of it and stop being a
bystander! There are no standards or criterion higher than God himself by which
to judge. God himself is the standard. Our only option is to submit to his
authority and rest in his care.
